UltraDMM support the Uni-T UT71E ?
« on: November 24, 2013, 12:31:51 PM »
Hello,

Does anyone know if UltraDMM software supports the Uni-T UT71E.

I see that the July 21, 2013 release (1.0.4.0) supports the "B" version, how about the "E" version?

Thanks, Bob

It depends on the main multimeter chip used by the multimeter.

Uni-T doesn't use the same IC in all multimeters in the same series - 71B may very well use a different IC compared to 71E , just like UT61E's chip is different to UT61D, even though UT61C and UT61D may use the same chip.

71C uses Cyrustek ES51966P,  71D is reviewed by Martin and he posted pictures in the following link (but the main chip seems to be under a metal shield) so I can't tell if it's the same :  http://mjlorton.com/forum/index.php?topic=191.0

If you have the 71E.. open it up and see what IC it's using... then look what other multimeters use the same chip and select that multimeter, or contact the UltraDMM author with the information and tell him to add the meter.

The UT71E has the same chip, so it should be supported. I guess I could check to see if mine works with it  ;D

Hi LightAges,

It sounds like you have a 71E.  I am considering purchasing one, but want to be able to use it with the UltraDMM software.

If you have the time I would appreciate it if you would let me know if it works with the UltraDMM.

Cheers!  ;D

I am unable to get it to work with my UT71E. It has a selection for UT70B, not UT71B.
