More old stuff...
« on: February 15, 2015, 06:12:34 AM »
Have had this lying around for a while, will have to take it apart some time soon.

This is made for a very specific market, and has a use that almost all people are familiar with, though you probably never knew how it was done.

Made in New Zealand, and a very interesting piece of electronics and optics. Even has some nice displays to show the results as well at the back. Uses a very old Intel 8048 processor inside it as well.

Oh my goodness! I had to look it up!

"Hennessy Grading Systems Design, Manufacture and Implement Carcass Grading Systems. The system is used to evaluate Yield (Meat and Fat) and Meat Quality (Colour, Marbling, Springiness, Water Holding Capacity) information about Pig, Beef and Sheep carcasses. The company pioneered Carcass Grading in the 70's through the use of the Optical Light Probes and Computing, and today Hennessy Grading Probes are in use in over 50 countries around the world. Hennessy Grading Probes enjoy a reputation of proven reliability and superior quality."
Play, discover, learn and enjoy! (and don't be scared to make mistakes along the way!)
