This looks like a very nice power supply. I'd like to enter to win it! Here is a photo of IPS3202 next to my ancient CRO.
By the way, I'm completely new to Google+ and I hope I'm doing this right. I '+1' and commented on 3 posts related to this contest (user "Anmore Wood-works").

Cheers!

I've been considering a ... special... power supply project for some time, so this looks like a good opportunity to start building it :D I'm not gonna ruin the surprise, but I'm guessing you guys will like it. So count me in for the scope contest.

I'm currently waiting for some eBay shipments and learning DesignSpark PCB. It's not too bad, but keeps crashing a lot...

Hello Martin,

Here's my humble workbench,  :D :D :D as you can see I have only the basic tools. I am a student and I'm still a beginner in the world of electronics. Currently I'm studying and experimenting about Transistor biasing and with this cool ISO-TECH IPS3202 - Programmable Switching dc Power Supply, will surely boost my learning process and experience in electronics. Thanks!

Greetings from Philippines,
Mc

Hi guys, and thanks to Martin for this new contest.
My idea is for one of the two projects: and in case of radio, has it to be RX or TX (or both)?
Bye

Hi Martin,

I suppose it is not fair to enter the giveaway with my existing power supply project? So I think I will try some AM of FM circuit after finishing the supply.

I was thinking about placing a picture in my lab, but I have no lab, so it is not my case :)

No problem if you want to enter the power supply that you have put together.
Play, discover, learn and enjoy! (and don't be scared to make mistakes along the way!)

I have been watching your videos for a while now and this competition peaked my interest.  Does the power supply project have to be a bench top lab power supply or can it be a DC-DC switching supply to power a product?

I have been watching your videos for a while now and this competition peaked my interest.  Does the power supply project have to be a bench top lab power supply or can it be a DC-DC switching supply to power a product?
I would also like to add to this question.

1. Does it matter if its linear or switching?
2. Do we need to implement both voltage and current adjustments?
3. What voltage range must it cover, and how many amps output?
4. Do you expect some smart features like logging, micro controller circuit, multiple information on a LCD or similar?

I am asking all this as I have a power supply I built a few months ago, but there were some problems with proximity of bridge rectifier and high voltage stuff to low votage, and when bridge rectifier heats up it affects some resistors, thus affecting output. It is a basic power supply based on LM350 with a 10 turn pot and LCD display.

I was going to upgrade it with watt metter kit from Franky, but not sure if I am going to do current limiting circuit. Micro controllers are currently out of my "league" :D

With all these questions I wanted to get a "feel" of what is expected and don't want to embarrass myself with too basic presentation for you all :D

Keep on great work Martin.

Thanks,
Balsa

Hi everyone! ;D
This is my homemade project to enter the competition:
"1st Prize - ISO-TECH IDS6102A-U 100 Mhz Oscilloscope with Arduino Kit"
"2) Build a power supply circuit. Create a circuit diagram with DesignSpark PCB (http://www.designspark.com/) and upload it here to this forum topic / thread. Upload a photo or video of your breadboard circuit."
I had build a homemade linear power supply with two transformers 8):
-One with 12V-AC and 5 Amps...to test motors...low voltage heaters....something thet needs max 5A..etc.
-And a center tap transformer 2x12V and 1 Amp....For powering low power amplifiers....op-amps......radio receiver....because I can build a power supply with +/GND/- ouput power.
I have used  for the regulation of the voltage dose integrated circuits:
-LM338 for thepositive ouput voltage (12V amd 5Amps transformer);
-LM317 for the positive ouput tvoltage ( the 2x12V and 1 Amp transformer);
-LM337 for the negative ouput tvoltage ( the 2x12V and 1 Amp transformer);
And the comon components/schematics:
-Bridge rectifier;
- filter caps;
-imput and ouput protection with fuses;
-Line(LC) filter;
-Radiator for the ics;
-Potentiometers;
-switch;
-rotative switch( 4 positions);
-2 leds;
-ETC.
The case is from an old 220V AC voltage regulator....I will post some pictures with the remaining transformer ...pcb-s...from the old 220V regulator(it was broken by the rain:))... I drill/cut holes for the 220V socket..potentiometers...fuse..switch...banana ..banana jacks...etc.
The schematic is assembled with the help of my knowledge..datasheets...and experimenting.
This is the full bench power supply schematic(will be somewhere in the post)
Some pictures with the power supply:

Ok...this is the first post..next week i will take some picture with the power supply output noise measured with the school osciloscope( i don't have one).
I will post a video...maybe more pictures...etc
P.S I finish the power supply when the giveaways started:)
If the post don't respect the regulament please tell my :-\!

Hi, my first post and it's for the prize ;p so materialistic... sorry :) I just started my journey with currents, solar power and all that kind of electric stuff ;p so power supply will by a good thing for me, right now i have almost nothing to work with:)
