There is a lot of debate about the use of a dielectric grease (insulator) to protect automotive electrical connections. This varies from coating a completed connection, coating lugs/connectors before assembling, filling rubber boots containing connectors etc. I would be interested in the science behind the best way to protect automotive electrical connections often exposed to moisture.
