Title: benning m11 multimeter, anyone knows it?
Post by: ambrogino on December 09, 2013, 06:48:25 AM
Hi!

I'm new here. So please forgive me and let me know if I post in wrong place.

Recently I read about multimeters with data logging function and I found this:
http://de.benning.de/de/corporate/produkte-dienstleistungen/pruef-und-messtechnik/digital-multimeter/benning-mm-11.html

Dose anyone know it? It is pretty expensive - around 400euro. I have a fluke 87v, so is there any quality differences between them?

Thank you very much!

I have the Ideal branded version of that.

The original ODM is Appa Tech.  See

http://www.appatech.com/appa_product_home.php?pdid=20051219042803105267&&kindid=2005081003113623241

I got mine for $40 USD (practically new), but rarely use it.  The Appa is certainly trying to copy the Fluke 87 look and feel, but its implementation, internally and operationally, falls short.

At 400 euro, it is definitely a loser.

There are much better data logging options in the 400euro ballpark.  I don't know what an Agilent U1272A costs in your country, but it has been reviewed by Martin and Dave Jones.  I don't have any experience with it so I can't make an informed comment.

Thank you so much for the reply!

The Agilent U1272A costs 3048 sek which is roughly 340 euro. I will definitly go with Agilent.

The Brymen BM869 is also favourably mentioned in this price range, but again, I don't have any hands on experience.  Martin and Dave have done video reviews.

For me, being in Canada, if I were to buy brand new, Agilent or Fluke would probably be the better deal as Agilent offers a 3 year warranty and Fluke a 10 year warranty.

With Brymen, I'm not sure where/who honors my warranty and sending the meter back to China/Taiwan with a tracking number would probably cost a lot?

I don't know what shipping is to Sweden from Poland, but tme.eu has the BM869 for a reasonable price. I do have one, and a Brymen BM525, and a BM257. I have three of their meters for a reason.

or if the VAT and shipping is to much you can get one from our friend Franky, AKA iloveeletronics, on his ebay store:
