Title: Uni T 61E software
Post by: Paul Collins M0BSW on May 11, 2014, 10:30:13 AM
I've had me 61E for a while now and thought I'd like to connect it to the computer, put the software in and the bugger just will not work, keep telling me the usb cable is not in correctly. I've tried New Drivers , download the software from their site, and still the stubborn bloody thing refuses to work, the only way I could the cable in any better is to ram it through the front of the computer until I reach the back panel. god I hate software, and computers in a close second place. the computer I have in on windows 7 ,64bit, is there any software out there that works.
Paul

Try an older version of the driver, it has issues with the new one and the clone chips ( don't you love software that does not work) so you need the older version of the FTDI driver.

It turned out to be the cheap arsed rs232/usb converter I bought for approx $3.00, I bought one today at PC world £25.00p FTDI version works perfectly, never will I buy cheap again.

Wow £25.00 sounds a bit excessive though for a converter! That's more than half the price of the UT61E :) Glad it all worked out in the end.

You can try the freeware UltraDMM. It is pretty nice and supports the 61E.
