Thank you for that episode! Inrush currents are very interesting and hard to measure.
The inrush currents of inductive loads rise quite slow but persist a couple of periods.
If you switch on @ voltage zero crossing you will get the biggest amplitude while switching on @ u_max the inrush current is much lower.
But switching on capacitive loads such as switching regulators, LED lamps etc. @ u_max you will get much higher currents for some 10µs. To measure this is more challenging.
