Title: Is this OK to start with?
Post by: 470MicroSalad on July 26, 2015, 04:00:12 PM
Hi, I've never used an oscilloscope before but lately realised I will have to get one if I wanted to continue this hobby.

Please tell me if this looks like a good deal for a beginner (I't very cheap, but I'm not sure about scope, if it would be OK for general electronics):

Thanks!

Fine for that, it will do the basics showing you about how scope work. Just remember that you should not use this scope to probe anything where the scope inputs will be connected to the mains, as the common terminal for the scope is connected to mains earth in the case.

Price is not too bad for the scope and transistor tester.

Thanks, SeanB!

I'm thinking I might save up a bit for an entry level digital scope... will see...

If there's anyone here from SA looking to sell their old scope drop me a message please!

Cheers!
