Post by: sapmanoy on October 23, 2015, 06:16:29 AM
Hi, I just wonder if the 50hz rcd and circuit breaker wil work in a 60hz environment.

Many thank in advance

Provided the voltage ratings are within the operating limits they will work fine. Most breakers will operate fine on 50Hz or 60Hz so long as the line voltage is within the ratings, though some RCD devices are less usable. Most 60Hz RCD devices are 110VAC devices, and on 230VAC will fail in short order from the overvoltage. 230VAC  RCD devices as well are not likely to operate correctly on 115VAC. This is because a breaker has no internal electronics inside it, it is operated purely on current flow, while the majority of RCD devices have internal electronics powered by the incoming line power.
