Even at £116 + free deliver it doesn't bring much to the table; not sure why you might buy one over a portable DMM with similar functionality?

I could feel and understand your discomfort reviewing this meter! I'd seen a few other comments and teardown pics of it before, and this just reinforced my opinion that this is possibly the stupidest meter ever! Good review, you told it like it is, thanks.

Maybe if you owned a factory that made cheap toy widgets and you required a multimeter to do some tests before the widgets left the factory,  I can see this sort of bench multimeter format being more useful than a pocket type DMM;  i.e. mainly because it's mains powered;   also it's perhaps less likely to be damaged or dropped because it might well be fixed to a testing trolly rig that would moved around the factory floor.   To be fair - you can't be too tough on it as it's really not the same market segment as the portable handheld testers.   I think it's aimed at factory production-line testing.
