Korg A5 Guitar Effects Repaired
« on: November 08, 2013, 07:32:09 AM »
The other day I bought a cheap faulty Korg A5 guitar effects pedal board from Ebay;  these units were always too expensive for me back in the day so I thought it would be a nice little addition to my guitar gear.

It turned out to be a simple fix;  one of the power jack terminal pins had rather sneakily broke the entire power track;  so after adding a wire link and then replacing one of the broken pedal pcb switches with a switch from an old keyboard, which was a perfect foot-print fit!  I gave it a good clean;  It didn't take long to put it all back together, then I fired-up my amp and gave it a blast, and it now works really well!

Pictures attached.

I don't really want to describe the stuff I removed from the inside around the pots and switches!  given the choice, I think I would of rather escaped from Shawshank through that pipe than do that again! ;-P

Sounds like some keyboards I cleaned with a hosepipe then left to dry on the line for a week.
