New Solder Station.
« on: November 09, 2013, 06:44:31 PM »
I had bought the Radio Shack unit, and ended up bringing it back. I had to turn it up to about 600C just to melt solder. It was way off calibration. I finally went with the Aoyue 9378. So far I really like it. It seems to be accurate to within plus or minus 7 degrees. Recovery time is excellent. Fit, and finish is really nice, and it heats up to temperature in about 20 seconds. So far I'm really happy with it. It cam with an extra heater, and 10 tips! Cost me $82.00 delivered fromSRA Solder who are really great to deal with.

Not bad, good to have the spare tips and the spare heater as well thrown in. Always is a problem when you have no heater element and the one in the unit blows.
