Buying first scope
« on: November 18, 2013, 10:52:36 PM »
Hi all, thinking about buying my first scope, and was wondering what you guys think about the Owon SDS5032E? I want a digital scope mainly because I don't have enough room for a CRT scope. Only have about $300.00 to spend. Like to buy new for the warranty.

Hi Tony,

The specs on that scope are not great. For an additional $100 you can get the Rigol DS1102E, faster sampling, more memory and bandwidth.

I'm about to review an analog scope (new and compact) so you may want to wait to see the pro's and con's there too.

Cheers,
Martin.

Thanks Martin. I will keep my eyes peeled for that. Where are you moving to? Hope you will still be in the states. Good luck with the move.
