1) Gossen meters are sold in the USA as Dranetz.

2) If you are going to do a comparison of top meters, you should have a look at the Hioki DT4282 as another possible Japanese representative.

Hioki says they make their own DMM ICs and it can get a stable reading within 0.6 seconds.  The nice color brochure.

3) Regarding the Sanwa PC 7000, don't be surprised if it uses a Brymen chipset for 500,000 count.  The specifications in manual for the PC 7000 says 5/secs update for 50,000 count mode and 1.25/sec for 500,000 count mode aka very much Brymen like spec.

Some previous Sanwa uses a Brymen chip (BTC) like this eevblog post

Found a picture of the Sanwa PC 5000 (500,000 count) and sure enough it uses the BTC chipset.
