Isotech IDS 8202
« on: November 12, 2014, 08:45:22 AM »
Hi, I've just upgraded my scope to this brand new one that I won in an auction on Ebay for £200; I can't do a review as such - as I could only compare it to my old HP 1660 and my even older Trio CRT one;  I might crack it open at some point and have a look at the build quality when I get a min.  I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has one of these - it's also known as the GW Instek GDS 2202.

Well, it's almost a year since I posted this and I've had lots of time to play with it;  although I do like it, the ui is slightly clunky to operate;  if you're in the market for a scope my advice is you're much better saving your money and getting a scope with more sample memory, as this only has 25k samples;  unless you have a limited budget and you can pick one these up really cheap on Ebay.

Another update;  last week I purchased a new Rigol 1054z,  the main reason was the larger memory and the other features which come with the scope.

How do you like your new Regol? I'm considering some options are that's one of them.

So far, very happy!

What scopes are you thinking of, and why?

Hey there, ;)

I also own the Rigol 1054Z, I love this scope tons of features and very user friendly, and I hacked it to I think it was 80Mhz. I also bought the Siglent SDS 1202X-E, Also a very good scope even more user friendly than the Rigol IMHO and a great phosphor screen. I love both these machines. And I have a old Hameg HM205-2 , bought that one secondhand on a local website here in the Netherlands. The Hameg is also in perfect operating condition and looks new. But if youre looking for a scope on a limited budget, with the 200Mhz Siglent, you cant go wrong.

off topic: This forum looks a bit dead, ever since Martin stopped making youtube videos. Hope we can bring it back to life, and hope tha Marting starts making videos agian.

Cheers for now ;)
