Recently I bought an AGILENT 4378A, on ebay, but I’m not sure that function correctly. So I request you an opinion if there is actually a problem.
The multimeter turn on correctly and pass the self-test.
I tried some measure of Vdc and Vac and it measure correctly, but if I set the Vdc scale without any connection or the connection is open the multimeter indicate 2,5 – 3 V and start to oscillate trought 0,00020 V and 3,0000 V. I hear the internal relay switch to different scale.
When I connect the multimeter to Vdc source or shortcut the cable the instrument measure correctly the tension.
In your opinion this can be normal or it’s a malfunction of the DMM?
The instrument have the seals of calibrate inctact, so I supposed it is recently calibrated.
I suppose that the power supply of the instrument have noise that is captured from the measure unit.
What do you think about this?
In the other scale Vac, Current ohm etc the instrument work fine.
I have two video (4,5 MB + 2,5 MB) with the problem but i can't attach to the forum message.
