lol,  sadly - not much chance of that!

haha, at least I managed to keep them doing what they suposed to do, I tested the old stereo I got for christmas, let it warm up first, and cranked the volume up, and i was surprised, almost no distortion, very little to say the truth, sounded very nice, so, not bad for a new year lol

well I'm glad someone is at least having some good fortune!   I bought a slightly broken power supply (booted up - but no output) with a view to fixing it;  it was late at night and I decided to re-seat all the chips;  when i powered it back up instead of a nice boot screen I got garbled text on the LCD;  then I realised I'd put the "unobtainium" firmware EPROM in the wrong way round! :-(
