Which dc to dc converter
« on: September 09, 2013, 03:29:16 AM »
I need to power an volt and amp meter for my power supply project but the meters need their own power supply. I've never used a dc 2 dc con b4 so im guessing it connects to the bridge rec? if so the out put from the rectifier is 18 or 33 volts depending on which tap of the transformer the relay is switched to. If anyone could suggest a dc2dc chip and how it would get wired up id be very grateful, thank you.

Hi!

In my project I'm using a DC-DC stepd-down converter similar to this: LINK.
Your are able to input 4-35V and you are able to adjust the output between 1.23-30V. My LCD V/A display needs 12V so I adjusted the trim potentiometer according to that. It works great. And yes, I connected it after the bridge rectifier; after the capacitors to be more precise.

Please provide more info about your project: description, photos, etc. :)
